Blank
Space Bookkeeping
Blank Space Bookkeeping provides small business bookkeeping and QuickBooks support for people building businesses that don’t always fit neatly into the usual boxes.
You be creative with your business.
I’ll keep the books boring.
You don’t have to look or operate like a Capital-B Business person to deserve books that are accurate and under control. Maybe you keep an unusual schedule, have a niche idea, a slightly chaotic brain, or your business simply grew faster than the systems behind it. Either way, I’m here to bring enough structure to the numbers that you don’t have to keep carrying them around in your head.
Calm by Design
Good work doesn’t need constant urgency. Instead, let’s allow enough space to think clearly, communicate well, and meet real deadlines without creating unnecessary pressure.
Be Yourself Here
We don’t need polished business language or corporate formality. So show up honestly and tell me what’s going on.

The Whole Picture
I keep better books when I understand how your business actually works, why it matters to you, and how everything flows through it. That context helps me make better sense of the numbers.
Mutual Support
I’ll follow through, communicate clearly, and meet my commitments. At the same time, I ask the same from you when I need information or answers to keep things moving.
You color outside the lines
We keep the numbers in line
Sound Familiar?

The books keep getting pushed aside
You mean to catch up, but the work your customers actually pay you for keeps winning.

You've outgrown the system you started with
The spreadsheet, DIY QuickBooks file, or “I’ll sort it out later” method worked for a while. Then, suddenly, it didn’t.

You’ve been figuring it out alone for too long
You’ve made it this far on instinct, Google, and good intentions, but now you’re ready for some backup.

You need someone else to hold part of the map
You know your business. You just don’t want to be the only person responsible for making sense of the financial side too.
FAQ
I Bet You Have Questions
Is it time for me to hire a bookkeeper?
If the books keep sliding to the bottom of your list, you’re not sure things are accurate, or you avoid the books until the last minute, it’s probably time for a bookkeeper.
On the other hand, maybe your books are spotless. If the time spent keeping them that way could be better used on your business, your family, or something else that matters to you, a bookkeeper can give you some of that time back.
What if I’m embarrassed by the state of my books?
You do not need to clean them up before showing them to a bookkeeper. After all, that would be a little like cleaning the house before the cleaner arrives.
Missing receipts, mystery transactions, half-finished spreadsheets, uncategorized expenses, and abandoned attempts at QuickBooks are all things that can be sorted through.
Most importantly, the condition of your books is information, not a moral score.
Can you help if I’m behind on my bookkeeping?
Yes. Catch-up and cleanup work is part of what I offer. First, we figure out how far behind the books are, what has already been reconciled, and where the records stopped making sense. From there, I can scope the work properly instead of guessing.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
I work with small, owner-led businesses, especially people building something of their own. That includes artists, healers, makers, ecommerce shops, service providers, and private practices.
If you built your business because you’re good at the work itself and would rather spend less time thinking about bookkeeping, we’ll probably have plenty to talk about.
Do you work with clients remotely?
Yes. Blank Space Bookkeeping is based in Auburn, Washington, and I work primarily with clients remotely. However, local meetings can also be arranged by appointment.
Do you prepare tax returns?
No. I provide bookkeeping and tax-preparation support, which means keeping the books organized and ready for your tax professional. Tax returns, tax strategy, and tax advice belong with a CPA or qualified tax preparer.
What happens when I contact you?
I’ll ask a few questions about your business, how you currently handle your books, what systems you use, and what kind of help you’re looking for. Then, if it looks like a good fit, we’ll talk through the scope, pricing, and next steps before anything starts.
